SparkVision SG-SV-01 Smart Glasses
1.General Provisions

Read this manual before use to maximize the intended features and enjoy your product experience.

Note all safety warnings for potential hazards during operation, even if such incidents are rare

2. Product Purpose
Medical Purpose: An aid for the visually impaired, designed to capture text from printed or other sources, recognize text (including language), colors, and the surrounding environment, and convert them into an audio format for listening.
Target Population: Individuals with visual impairments or blindness.
Contraindications: No contraindications have been identified.

3. Key Functions
OCR/Text Reading: Point the camera at printed text (20–40 cm). Activate “Scan/Read.” The device will recognize and read the text aloud.
Object/Scene Recognition: Select the “Objects” mode and point the camera; follow the voice instructions.
Assistant/Commands: Press and hold the assistant button; speak clearly (in a quiet environment).
Voice/Speed/Language: Go to Settings → Speech; adjust the speed and volume.
Gestures/Buttons (Example): Single press – Start/Pause; Double press – Repeat; Press and hold – Context Menu.
4. Initial Setup
Device Preparation:
- Unpack and inspect for visible damage. In case of discrepancies, do not use; contact customer service:
- Charging: Connect the USB-C cable to a certified 5 V charger. Charge until fully charged before first use. Do not charge in a humid environment.
Battery and Charging:
- Full charge time: 0.5–1 hour
- Typical operating time: ~4 hours (depending on mode)
- Recommended charging temperature: +5 to +35 °C
- Do not use damaged cables/adapters
- Do not puncture, bend, or heat the battery
- Disposal: deliver battery separately per Directive 2006/66/EC
- Expected charging cycles: ≥1200 under normal use
Power On/Off: To turn on: press the power button once, then press again and hold for ~5 seconds. To turn off: hold the power button for ~5 seconds.
- Wi‑Fi: Open menu Settings → Network, select your Wi-Fi, enter password, and hold OK until the device begins connecting. After successful connection, the device will restart.
- Software Update: Open Settings → Software Update. When prompted, confirm Install. Do not turn off power during the update.

Smart ring, USB-A to USB-C cable, and 5 ring sizes in which the electronics module can be placed.
Compatible optional accessories: control smart ring, Bluetooth headphones/bone-conduction headphones, external microphone.
Note: use only certified accessories that comply with the relevant standards.
Using the Device -Main Software:
Turning the Glasses On/Off


To turn on the glasses, press the button located on the bottom of the left frame once, then press it again and hold for 5 seconds. To turn off the glasses, hold the same button for 5 seconds.
What do the buttons do?

- Front Button: Selects your desired function.
- Middle Button: Used for scrolling forward or moving to the next function.
- Back Button: Used for scrolling backward or moving to the previous function.
- How to Connect to the Ring?
To connect to the ring using the buttons, select the “Settings” function, then look for the “Connect to Ring” option and press the Front Button on the frame.
How to Use the Ring?

- The ring has a movable button for navigating between the glasses’ functions.
- Pushing the button forward moves you to the next function.
- Pushing the button backward moves you back to the previous function.
- Pressing the button down selects the given function.
- Holding the button for 5 seconds exits the given function.
5 How to Select and Use a Specific Function
Function “Reading Text”.
To use the “Reading Text” function using the buttons on the glasses or the movable button on the ring, you must navigate to it and press the Front Button on the frame or the movable button on the ring to select it. Then, aim the glasses and hold the text still until the beeping stops and you hear a click.
To exit this option, hold the Front Button on the frame or the movable button on the ring for 5 seconds.
Function “ Environment Describing“
To use the “Environment Description” function with the buttons on the glasses or the movable button on the ring, navigate to it and press the front button on the frame or the ring’s movable button to select it. Then hold the glasses steady and wait until the beeping stops and you hear a click — the environment will then be described.
To exit this option, hold the front button on the frame or the movable button on the ring for 5 seconds.
Function: “Food Products and Expiry Date”
To use the “Food Products and Expiry Date” function with the buttons on the glasses or the movable button on the ring, navigate to it and press the front button on the frame or the ring’s movable button to select it. Then position the food product in front of the glasses and hold it still until the beeping stops and you hear a click.
To exit this option, hold the front button on the frame or the movable button on the ring for 5 seconds.
Function: “Receipt Scanning”
To use the “Receipt Scanning” function with the buttons on the glasses or the movable button on the ring, navigate to it and press the front button on the frame or the ring’s movable button to select it. Then position the receipt in front of the glasses and hold it still until the beeping stops and you hear a click.
To exit this option, hold the front button on the frame or the movable button on the ring for 5 seconds.
Function: “Banknote Recognition”
To use the “Banknote Recognition” function with the buttons on the glasses or the movable button on the ring, navigate to it and press the front button on the frame or the ring’s movable button to select it. Then position the banknote in front of the glasses and hold it still until the beeping stops and you hear a click.
To exit this option, hold the front button on the frame for 5 seconds.
“Light Measurement” Function
To use the “Light Measurement” function using the buttons on the glasses or the movable button on the ring, you must go to it and press the front button on the frame or press the movable button to select it, then wait for the beeping to stop and you hear a click. To exit this option, hold down the front button on the frame or the movable button on the ring for 5 seconds.
Function: “Color Recognition”
To use the “Color Recognition” function with the buttons on the glasses or the movable button on the ring, navigate to it and press the front button on the frame or the ring’s movable button to select it. Then position the object in front of the glasses and hold it still until the beeping stops and you hear a click — the colors will then be described.
To exit this option, hold the front button on the frame or the movable button on the ring for 5 seconds.
Function: “Time and Date”
To use the Time and Date function using the buttons on the glasses or the toggle button on the ring, navigate to it and press the front button on the frame or the toggle button on the ring to select it; the date and time will then be announced. To exit this option, hold the front button on the frame or the toggle button on the ring for 5 seconds.
Function: “Continuous Environment Description”
To use the “Continuous Environment Description” function with the buttons on the glasses or the movable button on the ring, navigate to it and press the front button on the frame or the ring’s movable button to select it. Then hold the glasses steady and wait until the beeping stops and you hear a click — the environment will then be described.
To exit this option, hold the front button on the frame or the movable button on the ring for 5 seconds.
Function: “Settings”
To use the “Settings” function with the buttons on the glasses or the movable button on the ring, navigate to it and press the front button on the frame or the ring’s movable button to select it. After that, you will hear the available options.
Options in the “Settings” Function
- Volume Adjustment
To use the “Volume Adjustment” option, using either the buttons on the glasses or the movable button on the ring, navigate to the option and press the front button on the frame or the ring button to select it.
To increase the volume, press the middle button on the frame or push the ring button forward. To decrease the volume, press the back button on the frame or pull the ring button towards you.
- Remaining Battery
To use the “Remaining Battery” option, navigate to it using the buttons on the glasses or the movable ring button, then press the front button on the frame or the ring button to select it. You will then hear the remaining battery percentage.
- Available Wi-Fi Networks
To use the “Available Wi-Fi Networks” option, navigate to it using the buttons on the glasses or the movable ring button, then press the front button on the frame or the ring button to select it.
A list of available Wi-Fi networks will be announced.
To scroll forward through the list, press the middle frame button or push the ring button forward.
To scroll back, press the back frame button or pull the ring button towards you.
To select the desired network, press the front frame button or the ring button (pressing inward).
Then enter the password:
Use the middle and back frame buttons or the ring to choose letters/numbers/special characters, and confirm each with the front frame button or the ring button.
After entering the password, start connecting to the selected network by holding the front frame button or the ring button for 5 seconds.
- Connecting to the Ring
To use the “Connect to Ring” option, navigate to it using the buttons on the glasses or the movable ring button, then press the front button on the frame or the ring button to select it. The glasses will then connect automatically.
- Software Update
To use the “Software Update” option, navigate to it using the buttons on the glasses or the movable ring button, then press the front frame button or the ring button to select it.
The option will start, and you will hear the current software version. The device will automatically check for a new version.
If a new version is available, you will be asked whether you want to update the software.
To confirm the update, press the front frame button or press the ring button. To decline the update, press the back frame button or pull the ring button backward to switch to the “No” option.
You can then select the option you prefer.
- Restarting the Glasses
За да използвате опцията „Рестартиране на очилата“, използвайки бутоните на очилата или подвижния бутон на пръстена, трябва да отидете на нея и да натиснете предния бутон на рамката или подвижния бутон на пръстена, за да я изберете. След това ще чуете предупреждение и очилата ще се рестартират.
- Language Selection
To use the “Language Selection” option, navigate to it using the buttons on the glasses or the movable ring button, then press the front frame button or the ring button to select it.
You will then be given three language options: English, Turkish, and Bulgarian.
6.Folding and Storage After Use
- Disconnect the USB cable.
- After use, fold the device to ensure convenient storage.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place.
7. Warnings and Precautions
Warnings:

Do not use the device if there is visible damage to the camera or cable;


Do not use the device in high humidity or extreme temperatures;


Avoid exposing the camera to direct sunlight.

9. Safety
Do not open the housing; risk of damage/injury. Repairs must be performed only by an authorized service center.
Avoid water/moisture/dust; the product has no declared IP protection rating.
Do not use while charging in wet or condensing environments.
Disposal: deliver to an authorized collection point for electrical/electronic waste (WEEE).
Complies with applicable EU requirements (CE). Declaration of Conformity available from the supplier.
10. Radio Parameters and Compliance (RED/EMC)
The device uses wireless interfaces in the 2400–2483.5 MHz range.
- Bluetooth®: 2400–2483.5 MHz; typical maximum radiated power ≤ 12 dBm
- Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz: 2400–2483.5 MHz; typical maximum radiated power ≤ 20 dBm
The product complies with Directive 2014/53/EU (RED) and applicable harmonized standards (safety, radio efficiency, and EMC).
EU Declaration of Conformity (EU DoC) is available from the manufacturer/supplier.
11. Maintenance and Cleaning
Turn off the device before cleaning. Clean with a dry or slightly damp microfiber cloth.
Do not use solvents, alcohol, abrasive, or ultrasonic cleaning methods.
Software maintenance: regularly update the software to the latest version.
12. Operating Conditions
Operating temperature: 0 to +40 °C
Humidity: 10–85% RH, non-condensing
Avoid strong vibrations/shocks and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight on the camera/sensors.
13. Storage and Transport
Temperature range: –20 °C to +70 °C; store in a dry place without condensation.
Transport in the protective case; avoid strong vibrations and impacts.
14. Troubleshooting
Device does not turn on: charge for ≥30 minutes; press the power button once, then press again and hold for 5 seconds.
No Wi-Fi: check password; restart router; try another network.
No sound: increase volume; check Bluetooth headphones; disconnect and test built-in speakers.
Weak OCR: clean the lens; improve lighting; increase document contrast.
15. Potential Risks and Safety Measures
Risks:
Incorrect text recognition due to poor lighting conditions.
Damage to the camera or USB cable due to improper use

16. Danger
Distraction hazard. Do not use during activities requiring full concentration.
17. Privacy and Data Protection
The device may capture and process images, text, and speech from the environment. Comply with local laws and respect the privacy rights of third parties.
Data and processing: images/video/audio may be processed locally and/or using cloud-based recognition services.
Storage: data is stored only as needed for the selected function; the user may delete local records via Settings → Privacy.
Consent: when applicable, ensure informed consent of individuals being recorded and avoid using the device in restricted areas.
18. Service Life and Decommissioning
Expected service life: 2 years under normal use and compliance with this manual.
Decommission the device if: irreversible mechanical damage to the frame/connectors, significant battery degradation (visible swelling, excessive heating, sharp capacity drop), corrosion of connectors/contacts, or if the product no longer meets safety requirements.
Disposal: deliver the device and battery to authorized collection points (WEEE and Directive 2006/66/EC).
19. Warranty and Support
Warranty: 2 years.
Covers manufacturing defects during normal use for 24 months from product delivery.
Includes labor, spare parts, and software updates during the warranty period.
Transport according to agreed conditions.
For warranty claims: submit written notice (email/post) with the serial number and description of the defect; repair or replacement is performed within legally defined timeframes.
This commercial warranty does not affect statutory consumer rights regarding product conformity.
